Our client, a trailblazer in the field of AI and Emerging Technologies, is seeking an innovative AI Research Engineer specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) to join their talented team in Cincinnati, Ohio . This hybrid position is ideal for a candidate passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI, with a focus on developing advanced NLP models and applications. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and evaluating cutting-edge NLP solutions that will shape the future of human-computer interaction and information processing. Responsibilities: Conduct research and development in Natural Language Processing (NLP), focusing on areas such as language modeling, text generation, sentiment analysis, and information extraction. Design, implement, and train deep learning models for various NLP tasks using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras. Develop and deploy NLP-powered applications and services that integrate with existing systems. Analyze and interpret large datasets to extract insights and improve model performance. Collaborate with a team of AI researchers, data scientists, and software engineers to translate research into production-ready solutions. Stay current with the latest advancements in NLP research, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, and present work internally and externally. Contribute to the development of intellectual property and patents. Optimize model performance for efficiency and scalability. Develop robust evaluation metrics and methodologies for NLP models. Work on fine-tuning pre-trained language models for specific downstream tasks. Explore and implement novel architectures and algorithms for NLP challenges. Contribute to code reviews and ensure high-quality software engineering practices. Mentor junior engineers and interns in the AI research team. Troubleshoot and debug complex AI models and systems. Identify opportunities to apply AI and NLP techniques to solve real-world business problems. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field. 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML research and development, with a strong focus on NLP. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python. Extensive experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras). Deep understanding of NLP concepts, algorithms, and state-of-the-art models (e.g., Transformers, BERT, GPT). Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation for NLP tasks. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for ML model deployment. Strong publication record in relevant AI/NLP conferences (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities, comfortable working in a hybrid environment. Ability to work independently and take initiative on research projects. Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark) is a plus. Knowledge of other AI subfields like computer vision or reinforcement learning is beneficial.
