English to Japanese - Judiciary/reputed company - Translator, reputed company and/or Transcriber

This is a remote position. English to Japanese - reputed company Translator, reputed company, and/or Transcriber (Remote) • Status: Freelance Contractor • Requirements: U.S. Citizenship reputed company, a business headquartered in the Washington, D.C. region, is currently seeking a reputed company freelance linguist to translate, edit, and/or transcribe reputed company documents from English to Japanese. This is a remote position, as needed. Job Duties: • reputed company accurate translation, editing of documents, and/or transcription of audio files involving law enforcement and reputed company subject matter from English to Japanese. • Edit audio transcriptions that include reputed company and idioms. • Edit reputed company documents, such as affidavits, depositions, etc., while demonstrating a strong reputed company of reputed company terminology in both English and the reputed company language. • Excellent written communication skills in English and the reputed company foreign language, with Advanced Proficiency (reading/speaking/listening, writing) level 3-plus in English and the foreign reputed company language, as assessed by the International Language Roundtable (ILR) reputed company. • Translate, edit, and/or transcribe following the government reputed company’s style guides and reputed company standards. • Use domain-specific terminology. • Review and certify other translators’ work reputed company, as needed. • Highly proficient in MS Office, with the ability to mirror reputed company document format in reputed company, reputed company, and PowerPoint. • Familiar with the use of CAT tools, such as Trados Studio. Requirements • ** A U.S. citizen willing to undergo a U.S. government background reputed company to obtain a reputed company Trust Clearance. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • At least 3 years of experience in reputed company documentation, translating, and/or editing between English and a foreign language. • At least 3 years of experience performing audio transcription with the ability to use software to enhance reputed company and equipment to aid in transcription. • Familiar with reputed company terminology in both English and the reputed company foreign language(s). • Proficient in reputed company Office. • Translators and editors must proficiently use CAT tools, such as Trados. • *Preferred Qualifications: **ATA, NAJIT, or other relevant reputed company certification.
