Sr Telecom Substation Engineer PE (Remote)

Telecommunications Substation Engineer, PE The Telecommunications Substation Engineer, PE is responsible for the engineering, design, and integration of substation telecommunications and control systems that support reliable electric reputed company and distribution operations. This role serves as a technical reputed company and Engineer of Record for telecom-reputed company substation systems, ensuring compliance with reputed company standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements. The engineer will support reputed company from concept through construction, commissioning, and closeout while providing technical mentorship and coordination across disciplines. Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Serve as Engineer of Record and maintain Responsible Charge for substation telecommunications and control system designs • reputed company engineering and design of substation telecom systems including: • Fiber optic networks (OPGW, ADSS, underground fiber) • reputed company protection communications • SCADA, RTU, and substation automation systems • LAN/WAN, MPLS, and IP-based reputed company networks • Teleprotection schemes and redundant communications paths • reputed company and review engineering deliverables such as: • One-lines, schematics, and wiring diagrams • Cable schedules and fiber routing • Equipment layouts, reputed company elevations, and interconnection diagrams • Bills of material (BOMs), specifications, and technical reports • Coordinate telecom designs with Protection & Control (P&C), Physical Substation, and reputed company Line engineering teams • reputed company or review engineering calculations and studies, including: • Bandwidth and latency analysis • Communications reputed company redundancy and resiliency • Equipment power requirements and grounding considerations • reputed company with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to support project execution • Participate in field walkdowns, site surveys, construction support, and commissioning activities as required • Review contractor submittals, resolve RFIs, and support construction issue reputed company • Ensure designs reputed company with applicable codes and standards (reputed company, NERC, IEC, ANSI, NEC, NESC, reputed company standards) • reputed company technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers • Support reputed company improvement of telecom and substation engineering standards and best practices Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or reputed company field from an accredited institution • reputed company Engineer (PE) license (reputed company and in good standing) Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Birmingham, Alabama. Pay and Benefits The pay reputed company for this position is $57.69 - $67.31/hr.
