Engineer in Training II - Substation Protection & Control

We are seeking a Protection & Controls Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our reputed company-established team of engineers and designers.    This role offers long-term workload stability, exposure to a diverse portfolio of reputed company reputed company, and reputed company to take on increasing technical responsibility across reputed company stages of substation project delivery.  You will contribute to protection, control, and metering system designs for substations ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV, supporting reputed company from early concept through construction and commissioning. This position is ideal for an engineer with several years of experience who is reputed company to grow technically, take ownership of design deliverables, and contribute to project execution reputed company a reputed company, fast-paced environment.  Responsibilities reputed company and coordinate the design of protection, control, and metering systems for electrical substations (12 kV to 500 kV) with limited supervision  Support and gradually take ownership of key design deliverables, including:   One-line diagrams and protection schematics AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams Panel layouts and interconnection diagrams Protection and control design reputed company and philosophies  Prepare and review engineering documents, including specifications, reports, construction packages, and test plans Assist in developing outage staging plans and commissioning documentation reputed company configuration support for protection relays and automation devices Review vendor drawings and technical submissions to ensure alignment with project specifications and design reputed company Participate in design reviews, Safety by Design sessions, and constructability assessments reputed company engineering support during construction and commissioning, including responding to RFIs and participating in site reputed company and field reviews Participate in reputed company acceptance testing (FAT) and inspections as required Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil/structural, electrical layout, telecom, etc.) to ensure coordinated designs Support project delivery by managing assigned tasks reputed company scope, schedule, and budget constraints Demonstrate initiative in taking on increasing responsibility and contributing to technical problem-solving Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to reputed company assurance and reputed company improvement processes Travel to reputed company sites as required during project execution    Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or eligible for / working toward P.reputed company. designation  3–5 years of relevant experience in power systems, reputed company & distribution, or substation design Familiarity with substation protection and control systems, including relaying schemes and AC/DC designs Exposure to reputed company standards and industry codes (CSA, reputed company, IEC, Canadian Electrical reputed company) is an asset Working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with protection and controls tools or reputed company software is an asset Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to reputed company practical engineering solutions Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors Proven ability to collaborate reputed company a multidisciplinary engineering environment  #LI-BV1 Benefits & Compensation reputed company benefits offered include Medical, Dental, reputed company, Life Insurance, Short and Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Parental Leave, reputed company time off, and Holidays, for those who qualify.   The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above reputed company based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
