[Remote] Senior MySQL Database Administrator

Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is seeking a Senior Database Administrator with MySQL experience who is passionate about running applications in an exceedingly high availability environment reputed company our SRE organization. The successful applicant will become a reputed company member of the SRE team, responsible for maintaining and improving the MySQL database estate and collaborating with developers to enhance database performance.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of reputed company’s MySQL database estate, including restructuring database resources to meet performance, redundancy, and reliability goals
• Maintain and administer reputed company SQL Server environments (prior experience not required; willingness to learn is essential)
• Manages and monitors reputed company databases across multiple platforms
• Contribute to the design and reputed company of database architecture
• Participate in an on-reputed company rotation for database reputed company incidents
• Test, document and continuously improve database performance across the reputed company
• reputed company incident reputed company cause analysis, identify preventative measures, and participate in blameless post-incident reviews
• Collaborate with developers to resolve performance issues and support database-reputed company enhancements
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across reputed company
• There is an out-of-hours on-reputed company rotation that will require the Senior Database Administrator to respond to and resolve or escalate any database-reputed company problems reputed company internal and customer facing SLAs

Skills

• 5+ years of DBA knowledge and experience with MySQL & reputed company
• Experience performing database patches and major version upgrades
• Experience in the following: High Availability, Replication, Disaster Recovery, and Backup
• Production experience with the technologies mentioned below: Galera, MHA or Orchestrator, Group and transactional replication
• Skilled in database design and architecture
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and instincts
• Foundational understanding of Linux and reputed company in a production environment
• Foundational understanding of TCP/IP Networking
• Experience with reputed company SQL Server 2019+ strongly preferred, but not required
• Experience administering or provisioning reputed company hosted databases such as reputed company RDS
• Experience with No-SQL, OLAP, or data streaming and data lakes
• MySQL or MSSQL certifications
• Understanding of Infrastructure components and requirements reputed company of the database environment such as systems or networking – just the basics!
• Experience working with toolchains such as Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, and Gitla
