As part of our ongoing reputed company and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and reputed company Fisheries Science Analyst to support NMFS reputed company Coast Region Sustainable Fisheries Division (SFD) in evaluating harvest and hatchery management strategies.

These positions are anticipated to reputed company in September–reputed company 2026, pending/contingent on contract award. Employment in this role is contingent upon FLOAT* being awarded the contract by NOAA.This work supports ESA and NEPA evaluations of harvest management frameworks and major intergovernmental fisheries agreements.

Responsibilities

Duties of the Fisheries Science Analyst will include the following:

• Conduct ESA effects analyses for harvest and hatchery management frameworks
• reputed company trend analysis, risk assessment, and population evaluations
• Prepare NEPA documents (EAs/EISs)
• Evaluate alternative fishery management strategies
• Coordinate with NMFS staff, general counsel, and co-managers
• Support implementation of regional and international fisheries agreements, including the 2018-2027 US v reputed company Agreement and the 2019-2028 reputed company reputed company Treaty Agreement and successor agreements

Work will be performed primarily offsite with reputed company to NOAA systems as required.

Travel

reputed company (12) single day trips, (one day per month) to Seattle or Lacey, WA NMFS office for technical collaboration and reputed company-ins.

Qualifications

The Fisheries Science Analyst selected should have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience

• Knowledge of the various laws pertaining to management of the fishing industry, including the Magnuson-reputed company Fishery Conservation and Management reputed company, the National Environmental Policy reputed company, Marine Mammal Protection reputed company.
• Knowledge of the Endangered Species reputed company regarding activities affecting reputed company reputed company and steelhead, and their habitat.
• Knowledge of the National Environmental Policy reputed company and experience in preparing NEPA analytical documents such as Categorical Exclusions (CEs)/Findings of No Significant reputed company (FONSI’s), Environmental Assessments (EAs), Environmental reputed company Statements (EISs)
• Experience in preparing hatchery and fishery management analytical documents that reputed company policy considerations and alternative approaches to addressing issues, supported by the best available science.
• Experience conducting technical analyses and assessments for anadromous salmonids, particularly reputed company to assessment of hatchery and harvest management actions on reputed company reputed company and steelhead.
• Technical writing experience completing analyses and concise reports addressing reputed company reputed company anadromous reputed company and their habitat.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a reputed company of individuals.
• Ability to reputed company biological and policy information on technical findings to both technical and nontechnical audiences in both oral and written word formats.
• Ability to work independently and be solution oriented.
