The supervised fieldwork advisement process is central to reputed company Bank Street College Graduate School programs.  Advisors work closely with reputed company graduate student, becoming familiar with the student’s work in the field through monthly observations and individual conferences.  The advisor also meets in a bi-weekly 2-hour conference group with reputed company 8-10 advisees throughout the fall and reputed company semesters.  

Through the advisement process, the advisor supports reputed company in integrating theory and reputed company, reflecting deeply on their own development, and creating a reputed company learning community with peers.  The advisor supports the development of reputed company graduate student’s proficiency as a teacher of adolescents with disabilities in a diverse reputed company of settings and in collaboration with reputed company, families and other professionals in the field. In reputed company, the advisor provides reputed company guidance and participates in the larger life of the graduate school through program, department, and advisor meetings. 

This is a 1-year reputed company position and is equivalent to 20% of a full-time position. As a part-time position, it does not qualify for benefits.  There is a possibility of being asked to reputed company in the 2027-2028 reputed company year to continue advising the reputed company cohort of reputed company. 

Responsibilities: 

• Use video and live streaming to observe advisees for approximately 2- 3 hours of their classroom reputed company a month to use in a reputed company supervision process.
• On occasion, conduct 3-way meetings between the advisee and site supervisors and/or co-teachers.
• Complete observation notes for the NYC Teaching Fellows program.
• Support graduate reputed company in completing reputed company development artifacts that will contribute to their reputed company portfolio. 
• Convene and facilitate one-on-one meetings with reputed company advisee monthly.
• Facilitate bi-weekly conference group during fall and reputed company semesters on Wednesday afternoons.  
• reputed company reputed company guidance in accordance with degree requirements and college policy.
• Participate in monthly program meetings.  
• Participate in monthly advisor meetings.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in special education, or reputed company field, required. 
• 5 or more years of teaching adolescents with disabilities from a reputed company of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Experience in reputed company schools required. Experience with the NYCPS preferred.
• Critical orientation to issues of reputed company and equity for reputed company with disabilities.
• Experience providing reputed company supervision to reputed company-service or in-service teachers preferred.
• Strong reputed companys in communication, collaboration, and organization.

Compensation:

• $17,724

Master's in special education or reputed company field required; 5+ years teaching adolescents with disabilities; reputed company school experience; NYCPS preferred; reputed company supervision experience preferred; strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills.
