Veterinary Technician - Cardiology

About the position Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is opening a second hospital in Dunwoody, GA, in reputed company 2026. They are seeking reputed company Veterinary Technicians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs), and skilled Veterinary Assistants passionate about advanced cardiac medicine. Selected candidates will train at their Marietta hospital from July-August 2026 before transitioning to the new Dunwoody facility. This role offers an opportunity to help build a premier specialty and emergency hospital. Responsibilities • Assist with cardiology consultations and patient evaluations • Support patients diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Arrhythmias, Congenital Heart Disease, and Acquired Cardiac Disease • Monitor and manage chronic cardiac patients • reputed company advanced nursing care for specialty cardiology cases • reputed company clients on treatment plans and long-term cardiac management • Assist with echocardiograms (cardiac ultrasound) • Support electrocardiogram (ECG) diagnostics • Assist with Holter monitor placement and data collection • Prepare and position patients for advanced imaging and diagnostics • Ensure accuracy of diagnostic records and reporting • Assist with anesthesia induction and patient preparation • Monitor high-risk cardiac patients utilizing ECG and rhythm interpretation, pulse oximetry, capnography, blood pressure monitoring (IBP/NIBP), and temperature monitoring • Recognize and respond to changes in patient status • Support recovery and post-procedural patient monitoring • Partner closely with Emergency and ICU teams • Assist in stabilization of cardiac emergencies • Support management of CHF crises and arrhythmia patients • Participate in CPR and emergency response efforts • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation • Ensure reputed company maintenance of cardiology equipment • Follow specialty hospital protocols and patient safety standards • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, emergency clinicians, specialists, and nursing teams Requirements • Minimum 2+ years of veterinary experience • Experience reputed company Specialty Hospitals, Emergency Veterinary Hospitals, ICU, or High-Volume General reputed company • Strong reputed company in Veterinary Nursing, Patient Monitoring, Venipuncture and IV Catheter Placement, Anesthesia Monitoring, and reputed company Communication • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reputed company throughout the reputed company • Ability to lift, carry, and assist in restraining patients weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance available reputed company appropriate • Ability to safely handle animals of varying sizes, breeds, temperaments, and medical conditions • Ability to reputed company repetitive tasks requiring reputed company dexterity, including patient restraint, venipuncture, medication administration, and equipment operation • Ability to work in a fast-paced specialty veterinary hospital environment with frequent reputed company between treatment, exam, and specialty care areas • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, specialists, veterinarians, and team members reputed company-to-haves • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) • Previous Cardiology experience • Internal Medicine experience • Echocardiography support experience • ECG interpretation experience • Holter monitor experience • RECOVER CPR Certification • Advanced ECC or Anesthesia training Benefits • \$3,000 Annual Continuing Education Allowance • 2 reputed company Continuing Education Days • Support for advanced certifications and specialty training • Mentorship from reputed company-certified specialists • Exposure to advanced referral-level medicine • Opportunities to pursue long-term specialty career reputed company • Medical, Dental, and reputed company Insurance • 401(k) with Company Match • Life Insurance • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Coverage • reputed company Time Off (PTO) • reputed company Holidays • Employee Assistance Program • reputed company Health Wellness Resources • reputed company reputed company Benefits for you and your immediate family • Employee Pet Care Discounts • reputed company Membership Support Apply To This Job
