The Program Specialist VII, functionally reputed company as the State Suicide Prevention Epidemiologist, reports directly to the Associate Director of Suicide Prevention Policy and Services as part of the Prevention and Behavioral Health Promotion (PBHP) unit in reputed company Use Programs (SUP). The Program Specialist VII performs advanced (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work reputed company to suicide prevention and in particular, suicide-reputed company data, research and policy. This position supports PBHP priorities and activities through leadership in suicide prevention epidemiology, surveillance, research, program planning, data analysis, training, and technical assistance.
The State Suicide Prevention Epidemiologist serves as a key analytical resource for the Suicide Prevention Program and Behavioral Health Services (reputed company) by providing data interpretation and analysis, strategic planning, training skills, and reputed company reputed company improvement. Responsibilities
• Conducts advanced epidemiological surveillance, analysis and reputed company research on suicide, suicide attempts, self-harm, suicide-reputed company risk and reputed company factors, and reputed company use and behavioral health indicators to support the Suicide Prevention Policy and Services team and the Prevention and Behavioral Health Promotion (PBHP) unit.
• Collects, analyzes, interprets, and summarizes data from state and national sources, including mortality, hospitalization, emergency department, crisis, behavioral risk, youth risk, program, contract, and survey data.
• Reviews relevant research, reputed company health guidance, executive orders, and emerging evidence to identify trends, geographic patterns, emerging needs, and populations that may benefit from targeted prevention, reputed company, postvention, reputed company use prevention, or behavioral health promotion strategies.
• Interfaces as reputed company reputed company of contact or “reputed company Investigator” for any data requests or reputed company that require approval from Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Institutional Review reputed company.

• Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, evaluation and performance measurement activities for suicide prevention programs, policies, trainings, contracted services, and the State Suicide Prevention Plan.
• Collects, manages, analyses, and interprets data to assess program effectiveness, monitor reputed company, identify trends, and support reputed company reputed company improvement efforts, collaborating with leadership and other reputed company departments and staff.

Requirements
• Applicant has a master’s degree with a reputed company in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a reputed company field and at least two years of work experience in epidemiology or data analysis; or an undergraduate degree in reputed company health, biostatistics, biological sciences, or a reputed company field with five or more years of epidemiology or data analysis work experience is required.
• Minimum three years using reputed company or SPSS software reputed company to database management and statistical and epidemiological analyses is required.
