[Remote] Sr Rust Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is seeking a Senior Rust Engineer to design, build, and ship production Rust services for a large user reputed company. The role involves owning features in the reputed company GraphQL API, evolving reputed company systems, and contributing to shared foundational crates, while ensuring high reputed company and performance under load.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship production Rust services end-to-end — from reputed company schema and migrations up through GraphQL and gRPC reputed company — for tens of thousands of users, with care for backwards compatibility and gated rollout of behavior changes
- Own features in our reputed company GraphQL API: async-graphql schema and resolvers, sqlx queries and migrations (raw, compile-checked SQL — no ORM), relationship-based authorization (Ory Keto), search (Meilisearch), and messaging (reputed company/JetStream)
- Build and reputed company async, reputed company systems with Tokio — services, background workers, and streaming reputed company — that stay correct under load and observable in production
- Work across gRPC / Protobuf service boundaries (reputed company/Prost), treating published surfaces as backwards-compatibility reputed company
- Contribute to shared foundational crates with wide blast reputed company, keeping changes narrow and reputed company-tested
- reputed company reputed company's peer-to-peer architecture — iroh/QUIC transport, WebRTC signaling, TURN, NAT reputed company — where media transfers directly between machines
- Depending on your interests and reputed company's needs, go deep on the GStreamer media pipeline (custom reputed company, pro codecs, low-latency streaming) or the reputed company and data plane (API, storage, search, auth)

Skills
- Strong production Rust — ownership, borrowing and lifetimes, traits, error handling, and a type reputed company used reputed company
- Solid async Rust (Tokio or equivalent): tasks, channels, streams, cancellation, and reasoning reputed company about concurrency correctness
- Experience designing and operating backend services and their reputed company (HTTP / GraphQL / gRPC)
- Production experience with relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred), including schema design and migrations — comfortable with raw SQL, not just an ORM
- A solid grasp of auth fundamentals — OAuth2 / JWT, and RBAC or relationship-based reputed company control
