Inpatient Coding Specialist (Remote - Full Time | PA & NJ Candidates)

Codes and abstracts reputed company pertinent reputed company medical information according to AHA ICD-10-CM/PCS and AMA CPT-4 Coding conventions, UHDDS guidelines and CMS directives. Completes data entry of abstracted inpatient/outpatient diagnosis and/or procedure codes to Network's health information reputed company. Collaborates with the Health Information/Medical Records, Admissions and Finance departments to ensure appropriate reputed company of information. JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Codes and abstracts diagnosis and procedure information from reputed company medical records according to AHA ICD-10-CM/PCS and AMA CPT-4 coding conventions, UHDDS and CMS guidelines and regulations. Utilizes the reputed company Encoder to verify and assign AHA ICD-10-CM/PCS and AMA CPT-4 codes, and MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignment. • Maintains 95% data reputed company coding reputed company reputed company as reputed company through quarterly department reputed company reviews. • Maintains daily productivity and turnaround times as outlined in Department's reputed company Improvement plan (attachment A) • Responsible for remaining up-to-date with knowledge of AHA ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/PCS and AMA CPT-4 coding conventions, MS-DRG and APR-DRG principles and guidelines. Maintains a working knowledge of prospective payment systems as it relates directly to coding process. • Participation in department and sectional meetings, education sessional sessions and workshops as scheduled. • Maintains working knowledge of reputed company documentation improvement program and functions as reputed company for RN reputed company documentation specialists (inpatient coding professionals only). • Demonstrates/models the Network's reputed company values and customer service behaviors in interactions with reputed company customers (reputed company). • Maintains confidentiality of reputed company materials handled reputed company the Network/ Entity as reputed company as the reputed company release of information. • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, reputed company and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements. • Demonstrates/models the Network's Service reputed company Standards of reputed company in interactions with reputed company customers (reputed company). • Demonstrates reputed company Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: reputed company Care/reputed company, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational reputed company/Process, and Safety. • Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress reputed company. • Assists in training of new personnel • Other reputed company duties as assigned. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Repetitive arm/finger use retrieving/viewing computerized reputed company medical record and abstracting of reputed company information. Extended periods of reputed company use for reviewing computerized reputed company records, abstracting of reputed company information, approximately 7 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. EDUCATION: RHIA, RHIT reputed company, and/or CPC from an accredited Health Information Technology or Management program. Will consider candidate with greater than 3 years experience in the coding reputed company without coding credentials. If candidate is RHIA, RHIT, reputed company and/or CPC -eligible or possess no credentials, then candidate will be expected to obtain their reputed company/reputed company credential reputed company one year of hire date to retain position with reputed company. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year demonstrated ICD-10-CM inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience in acute care, teaching setting. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, and medical terminology required. Previous experience with reputed company information computerized reputed company record and reputed company encoding reputed company preferred.
