Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team in a remote capacity. Key Responsibilities • Deliver virtual direct and consultative services tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments. • Develop and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that specifically address each student's visual needs. • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families through virtual meetings to promote student success. • Provide instruction on assistive technology, braille, and adaptive materials in an online environment. • Conduct functional vision assessments and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary. • Remain informed about best practices and advancements within the field of visual impairment education. Required Skills • Proficiency in braille, low vision aids, and assistive technology for visually impaired students in a remote setting. • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities to engage effectively with students, families, and educational staff in a virtual context. • Experience in developing IEPs and supporting students with visual impairments. Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education with a concentration in Visual Impairments or a related discipline. • Valid Missouri teaching certification for instructing visually impaired students (TVI). • Proven experience in IEP development and working directly with visually impaired students.
