Business Analyst, Retail Banking (contract)

We are seeking a contractor to join our Special Projects team as a business analyst. In this engagement, you will collaborate with research leaders on a new benchmarking initiative including concept design, requirements development and testing, and data analysis. This engagement involves analyzing financial data, monitoring performance metrics, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:
Compiling business requirements such as bank financial metrics to support the development of a new financial services benchmarking product
Communicating with multiple stakeholders to define project objectives, timelines, and milestones
Assisting domain experts with project concept development
Obtaining, aggregating, and cleaning dataPreparing data output for analysis
Requirements:
2 to 5 years of project management or product development experience
Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
3+ years of financial analysis experience, preferably in retail banking
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial modeling
Strong knowledge of banking products and key performance indicators (KPIs) for retail banking operations
Experience with financial reporting systems and databases
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience partnering with senior executives in scoping, planning, and execution of key initiatives
Experience in product research, prototyping, and A/B testing capabilities
Understanding of bank or credit union financial statements and reporting
Familiarity with quarterly Statement of Condition (Call Report) reporting to the FDIC or NCUA
Experience with retail banking products performance and profitability analysis
Desired, but not required:
Experience and skills in benchmarking analysis
Experience with developing financial models for new product initiativesExperience with research in a business context
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Finance or MBA
CFA certification or progress toward completion
Experience with SQL and data visualization tools
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (Basel III, Dodd-Frank)
