Job Summary Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive University dedicated to quality education, research, and service. Assignments will include teaching, at the graduate level. Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor. Job Description Typical duties include but not limited to: ? Plans and teaches in assigned course(s). ? Attends course orientation and faculty meetings, as required. ? Provides primary instruction and evaluation of students against department and accreditation standards. ? Prepare syllabi, instruction materials; coordinate lectures and tests. ? Provide professional mentoring to students. ? Contribute to course and/or curriculum development. ? Function as an effective, active, and collegial team member. Other duties ? Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Additional Job Description Minimum qualifications ? Masters in Counseling. ? All candidates must have at least two years of experience in the field. Preferred qualifications ? Experience teaching courses in Mental Health Counseling, including Practicum and Internship. ? Experience in teaching at the University or graduate level, supervision experience, and experience in the counseling profession. ? Doctorate in Counseling. ? Graduates from CACREP accredited programs will be given preference. ? Experience with on-line learning management systems like Canvas or Blackboard as well as instruction/ supervision experiences that use active learning in online and face to face classrooms is preferred. ? Licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Knowledge, skills, and abilities ? Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment. ? Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks. ? Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies. ? Provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment. ? Present a professional image in word, action and attire. ? Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborates with others to achieve goals. ?
