- Observing all safety procedures, maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Applying quality instructions & specifications
- Monitoring the production or packing operation to ensure quality objectives are met.
- Loading/unloading material into & from equipment.
- Working as a team member through sharing information, problem solving & assisting others
- Understanding and following all safety policies and procedures
- Following process standards to ensure quality product is produced.
- Performing data entry and recording required tests and adjusting processes as necessary to meet quality specifications.
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping
- Handling hazardous waste material in accordance with federal and state regulations
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Required:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Ability to work a 2nd (second) or 3rd (third) shift depending on shift availability, OR ability to work a 12-hour night/rotating shift (approximately 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as required.
- Minimum one (1) year of plant and/or manufacturing experience in a public, private, government, or military environment
- Post-high school education
- Experience with control charting, material handling, packaging, chemical manufacturing, and hazardous waste management.
- Experience working with computers in a manufacturing setting.
- Attention to detail, prioritization, self-motivation, teamwork, problem solving, analytical thinking, effective communication skills, strong work ethic, initiative, and a focus on safety.
