The group leads efforts related to enterprise strategies, portfolio management, resource allocation, M&A strategy, and manages the annual strategic planning process. Corporate strategists are senior professionals, working with business executives and leaders on the company’s highest priority initiatives, with an emphasis placed on value creation through growth.As the Manager, Corporate Strategy, you will support defining the global enterprise strategy aimed at fostering growth and innovation. This strategy professional will collaborate closely with leadership as an internal strategic resource supporting critical global initiatives, influencing the development, communication, and execution of 3M’s strategic plan while enhancing the corporate portfolio to expand and evolve market offerings. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Lead strategic initiatives sponsored by CEO, CFO, Chief Strategy Officer, and other Operating Committee members
• Lead corporate portfolio management projects focused on value creation and growth through resource allocation, business creation, and M&A
• Support the corporate strategic planning process, including executive and Board-level strategy formulation, business case development and deck creation
• Track industry and competitive trends, and develop business outlook and forecasts
• Develop rigorous, fact-based, quantitative analysis to support recommendations.
• Ensure strategic and financial soundness and alignment for any recommendations

Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Five (5) years of strategy experience is required in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Minimum three (3) years of experience at a leading strategy consulting firm or similar corporate strategy role.
• Master’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Proven track record in providing novel and innovative solutions to complex or difficult strategic issues
• Demonstrated leadership ability – proven track record of leading high impact projects and cross-functional teams
• Action-oriented, with emphasis on execution and results rather than theory
• Ability to independently lead and manage projects with multiple work streams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems
• Must be able to interact with senior executives and handle high-pressure settings with confidence
• Hands-on, self-starter, team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including solid understanding of financial and statistical analysis
• Significant experience with MS PowerPoint and Excel
• Experienced with advanced analytics tools (e.g. Tableau) are a plus

• Hybrid Eligible: Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
