Job description: Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Director of Instruction - Curriculum position in the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.The Director of Instruction - Curriculum is responsible to the Dean of Academic Affairs for supporting the deans and faculty in the pursuit of program quality and instructional excellence. The Director of Instruction - Curriculum will be responsible for all aspects of faculty and staff support and training in the areas of instructional design and use of technology.Job Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver a comprehensive faculty/staff development program that meets identified needs and interests for professional development
2. Coordinate and implement a process for student evaluation of faculty and courses each semester; provide needed feedback and information to instructional supervisors
3. Help deans to provide comprehensive adjunct services/assistance, including a regularly scheduled part-time and full-time faculty orientation
session, updated (online) faculty handbook (for full-time and part-time instructors), and online training.
4. Evaluate new technologies to discover new and better ways to enhance instruction
5. Assist faculty in discovering methods of improving their instruction with and without technology
6. Conduct training sessions teaching faculty and staff how to use new technologies and new innovations in instruction
7. Evaluate the use of technologies and their impact on student learning outcomes
8. Create training materials and provide resources for faculty to improve classroom, hybrid, and online delivery of instruction
9. Oversee the implementation of technology for the use of instruction (e.g., Course Badges, Blackboard Ultra, SoftChalk);
10. Maintain College Catalog, ensuring accuracy in all areas and annual reviews;
11. Update and maintain New Student Orientation online in conjunction with the Director of Student Activities;
12. Serve as College point of contact for TCSG eCampus
13. Provide input on division budget, planning, and evaluation.
14. Perform other duties as assignedCOMPETENCIES:· Ability to perform some repetitive motion (typing/use of computer), as well as sitting for sustained periods of time.· Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.· Decision-making and problem-solving skills.· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.· Experience in delivering excellent, professional customer service and attention to detail.· Demonstrates a positive, inclusive, and welcoming disposition.· Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with colleagues using tact, patience and courtesy.· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Minimum Qualifications:Must possess and demonstrate a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning, Design and Technology, Education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of related work experience.Preferred Qualifications:Preference may be considered for candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:
