Job Title: Senior Finance Specialist | UK Property & Maintenance Company Location: South Africa (Remote, UK Hours) Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Specialist to join our UK-based property and maintenance group. This remote role, based in South Africa, requires a well-rounded candidate with extensive experience in finance, property management, and administration. While this is not a management role, we are looking for someone with more seniority than a typical finance assistant, capable of working across all three companies within our group. You will handle a variety of finance-related tasks, including bookkeeping, credit control, and supplier management, ensuring all financial processes run smoothly. Key Responsibilities: Â Invoice Management: Â Perform thorough checks of supplier invoices against relevant POs to ensure accuracy in value, confirming that associated sales invoices have been raised and no work issues exist. Â Process all supplier... invoices using Hubdoc and publish them correctly in Xero with proper coding. Â Check statements and communicate with suppliers to resolve missing invoices or queries. Â Notify the finance director of any suppliers chasing for payment, and confirm agreed statements. Â Subcontractor & Supplier Relations: Â Complete new subcontractor verifications with HMRC via Xero, setting up all relevant new contact details. Â Build the purchase ledger payment run process with the finance director, including making payments directly through Xero. Â Bookkeeping & Reconciliation: Â Maintain accurate bookkeeping across all companies, ensuring correct nominal coding. Â Factor in allocations and manage monthly reconciliations of the Factoring bank account in Xero. Â Expense & Credit Control Management: Â Monitor Pleo cards, ensuring all receipts are uploaded and spending limits are managed. Â Oversee fuel cards and trade cards, ensuring efficient use and cost control. Â Assist with credit control and external accountant queries. Â Compliance & Reporting: Â Manage the CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) compliance process and Reverse Charge VATprocedures. Â Liaise with the finance manager to ensure timely payment of fines and deductions from wages. Â Assist the finance director with preparing reports and maintaining a PCN register. Qualifications & Skills: Â Proven experience working within a finance team with a wide range of responsibilities. Â Proficiency in Xero accounting software is essential. Â Knowledge of CIS and Reverse Charge VAT is critical. Â Experience with Factoring and bank reconciliations. Â Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple companies within a group structure. Â Ability to manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Â Comfortable working remotely and independently, while remaining part of a cohesive team. Â Excellent communication skills for managing both internal and external queries. Experience Level: Â A senior-level finance professional (above finance assistant level), comfortable managing complex financial tasks, but not in a management role.
