Benefit offerings include : • Medical • Vision • Dental • 401K • Paid Medical Leave Policies • Education Assistance Program • Company Sponsored Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Life AD&D coverage • Personal and Vacation Time Job Title : Grinding Machinist I Department : Manufacturing Reports to : Production Manager FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Note : This is a weekend shift : Friday-Sunday 5am-5pm Purpose The Grinder Operator is responsible for setting up and editing offsets on a variety of surface and rotary grinders. Also responsible for observing operation of machine and ensuring accuracy of the final part per specifications. Primary Responsibilities • Set-up jobs on the machine, including; loading and securely fixture the work-pieces onto the work table, adjust program offsets and set limit switches. • Positions and secures work-piece on magnetic chuck, in holding fixture, or directly to machine table • Adjust limit switches in order to optimize the wheel life and machine cycle time. • Understand and make adjustments to hold geometric dimensions and tolerances according to blueprints. • Provide quality control by inspecting work-pieces as they go in or come off of the machine and remove any defective pieces. • Use math, geometry, and trigonometry to complete job responsibilities. • Proficient in reading and interpreting 2D blueprints Job Competencies / Success Factors • Strong attention to detail • Problem solving skills • Goal Oriented • Self Motivated • Ability to quickly learn new things and receive feedback Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSA's) • Communication Skills - strong written and verbal communication skills. • Mathematics - ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, decimals, percentages and other calculations.
