Inside Sales Coordinator, Aerospace & Defence (Remote)
About the position
Coherent's Aerospace & Defense (A&D) division is seeking a qualified Inside Sales Coordinator to work with existing and potential customers, providing support before and after the sale or service transaction. The role involves answering customer questions and inquiries effectively and in a timely manner. This position includes responsibilities such as quote generation and approval tracking, documentation and customer portal support, order administration, and various customer service tasks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing sales process training to ensure efficient and timely task management and will also provide order status updates as needed. The Inside Sales Coordinator must possess a teamwork mentality, strong attention to detail, and a focus on customer satisfaction, which is crucial for building and maintaining customer relationships. This remote position collaborates with Sales Account Managers, Business Development Managers, and other cross-functional departments to ensure that customer inquiries are addressed, orders are processed through fulfillment, and all assigned work is completed with the highest quality of service while adhering to the company's policies, procedures, mission, and values. In this role, the coordinator will identify, qualify, and follow up on leads that come into the A&D business division. Responsibilities include quote generation and approval tracking, improving the quote process, providing documentation and customer portal support, and responding to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner. The coordinator will act as a liaison between customers and Coherent's Sales Account Managers and Business Development Managers, validating and processing customer purchase orders using the company's ERP system, and providing sales order updates and RMA documentation as necessary. The role may also require interaction with various departments such as Product Line Leaders, Operations, Legal, Contracts, Finance, Planning, and Production to obtain information and timely approvals for customers.
Responsibilities
• Identify, qualify, and follow up on leads that come into the A&D business division.

• Act as a liaison between customers and Coherent's Sales Account Managers & Business Development Managers.

• Receive, validate, process, and track customer purchase orders using the company's ERP system.

• Acknowledge orders once scheduled/rescheduled.

• Provide sales order updates and issue RMA documentation.

• Interact with various departments to obtain information and approvals for customers.

• Perform proactive, self-directed daily follow-up on job-related tasks.

• Complete other sales, customer service, and order management duties as required.
Requirements
• Minimum Associate Degree; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

• Minimum of 6-8 years of related experience.
,
• Prior customer service, order administration, and/or sales support experience in a technical environment required.

• Experience preparing or processing quotes required.
,
• Experience processing sales orders and RMAs required.
,
• Experience communicating directly with customers required.

• Technical background, knowledge, or experience preferred.

• Sales training and onboarding experience preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 tools required.

• Familiarity with an ERP system required (IFS and/or Oracle is ideal).

• Familiarity with a CRM database system required (Salesforce is ideal).

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency.
