As a growing CPA firm, we are looking for a part-time Staff Accountant/Admin with a solid foundation in accounting and bookkeeping, and a proactive mindset to work alongside our CPA and support both client services and administrative needs. Position Overview This role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience in a professional or CPA firm environment. You will support bookkeeping, tax preparation, reconciliations, and financial statement processes, while also being flexible enough to assist with general administrative support when necessary. The ideal candidate is independent, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a small, client-focused team. Key Responsibilities · Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using QuickBooks Online/Desktop · Prepare and assist in reviewing individual and business tax returns · Reconcile bank and credit card statements; manage accounts payable/receivable · Support monthly close processes and generate financial statements · Prepare workpapers and reports for the CPA's review · Communicate with clients professionally via phone, email, and video · Manage the CPA’s calendar and coordinate client meetings · Assist with onboarding new clients and organizing electronic records · Learn and use tax software and firm procedures to ensure efficient workflows Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience · Minimum 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a CPA firm · Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) · Self starter with excellent communication and organizational skills · Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities · Willingness to learn new tools and processes related to tax and accounting · Candidate must be local to Gilbert, Arizona as client meetings are held onsite.
