Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Job Responsibilities • Implement programs or activities as directed by the supervising SLP • Assist SLP with screenings, assessments and treatment of patients • Complete documentation • Communicate with patients, patients’ families and physicians and staff • Assist in the general operation of the department • Assist with development of programs Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Requirements • Education: Either an Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a Bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders (or reputed company field) with SLPA coursework. • Clinical Experience: At least 100 hours of supervised clinical experience under a licensed SLP. • Supervision: You must work under the reputed company or indirect supervision of a licensed SLP. • Licensing: Apply for licensure through the Oklahoma reputed company of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (OBESPA), submit transcripts, verification of clinical hours, and pay the fee.
