The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc. We are seeking a professional and customer-focused General Manager to oversee our hotel operations at our 112 room Courtyard by Marriott in Jacksonville, NC. Our ideal General Manager candidate must possess extensive knowledge of hotel operations, a positive attitude, the proven skills to oversee all operations activities and departments in the hotel in order to maximize revenue, deliver a positive guest experience and create a team atmosphere that promotes learning and excellence Job Requirements include: Managing budgets and financial plans and controlling expenditure Oversees hotel operations Ensures overall guest satisfaction to drive brand metrics Ensures compliance with brand standards Maintaining statistical and financial records Setting and achieving sales and profit targets Recruiting, training, and monitoring staff Planning work schedules for individuals and teams Meeting and greeting customers Dealing with customer complaints and comments Addressing problems and troubleshooting Ensuring events and conferences run smoothly Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations, and furnishings Dealing with contractors and suppliers Carrying out inspections of property and services Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives Education Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Hospitality Management or related field or equivalent education/experience required. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Demonstrated ability to lead a team Excellent attention to detail Financial savvy Proficient in Microsoft Office. Several years of hotel General Manager experience preferred. Marriott Experience preferred or full service brand hotel experience.
