About the position Responsibilities • Assist project managers in preparing accurate cost estimates for a wide range of residential construction projects. • Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop detailed estimates. • Perform quantity take-offs and calculations to determine the amount of materials and labor needed for projects. • Collaborate with Project Managers and Sales Manager to ensure accurate cost projections. • Assist in soliciting and reviewing bids from subcontractors and suppliers. • Update and maintain estimating databases, cost history, and other relevant records. • Analyze project risks and opportunities and incorporate them into cost estimates. • Assist in preparing bid proposals and other relevant documentation. • Maintain clear and organized records of project documentation and correspondence. Requirements • 1-2 years of experience in construction estimating or a related role is preferred. • Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and industry practices. • Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks/projects. • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail. • Strong ability to read blueprints, specifications and related construction documentation. • Knowledge of current construction costs and price estimating techniques. • Proficient with email, cell phone and text management. • Proficient with MS Office, Google Calendar, Buildertrend, etc. • Bi-lingual highly preferred. • Able to communicate effectively with management, design professionals, project team, clients and subcontractors. • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of residential construction projects. • Knowledge of all aspects of construction management, business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. • Must be willing to travel for site visits if required.
