Associate Controller
The Associate Controller will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial reports, managing accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information. We are a dedicated and growing psychiatry practice focused on providing exceptional mental health care to our patients. We are seeking an Associate Controller to join our team and assist in managing the financial operations, including drafting monthly financial statements and using QuickBooks to streamline accounting processes.
Job Summary:
The Associate Controller will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial reports, managing accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, a strong understanding of QuickBooks, and the ability to work closely with senior management to support the financial health of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and draft monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) for management review.
• Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with best practices.
• Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Monitor financial transactions, ensuring they are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the practice’s management team to provide insights and reports on financial performance.
• Support the annual audit process and assist with tax preparation as needed.
• Implement and improve financial policies and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical practice setting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (required).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a psychiatry, healthcare, or medical office setting.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing practices and regulations.
• CPA certification (or working towards certification) is a plus.
Salary
$40 - $60 per hour
