Virtual K-6 Reading Tutor
Description
The Tutor will play a meaningful role in supporting small groups of growing readers virtually, multiple times a week. Reporting to the Program Manager of Tutoring Services, the Tutor will utilize a small group tutoring intervention program to deliver tutoring sessions virtually and monitor students’ progress. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, results-driven, and self-motivated, thriving in a setting that involves working with young children and enhancing learning skills through game-like activities. This position is virtual, but all candidates must be physically based within the United States or the District of Columbia and meet U.S. employment eligibility requirements.

Compensation and Benefits
• The hourly rate range for this role is (13.75 - )15 for preparation time
• (15 - )20 for delivery of sessions

Skills
• Available for 60-90 minutes, three set days per week between 3:00-4:30 PM Pacific time
• Fluent English speaker
• Comfortable with technology (GoogleMeet, Google Docs, GoogleSheets)
• Reliable, diligent, and punctual
• High School level proficiency with reading competencies
• Enjoys working with elementary school age students
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and program manager
• Experience preparing and leading instructional activities or games with small groups of children is a plus
Responsibilities
• Provide virtual tutoring to small groups of K-6 students three set days per week
• Engage in lesson preparation based on provided small group lesson plans
• Monitor progress of students’ reading ability virtually
• Track student attendance for tutoring groups daily
• Implement feedback from program manager and professional development coach
• Communicate clearly and consistently with teachers and parents on student goals
• Attend and engage in virtual training and onboarding
• Contribute to project-level feedback and reporting
Qualifications
• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous tutoring experience is a plus
• Fluent Spanish speaker is preferred
• Knowledge of early reading skills is a plus
