About the Role: As an Educational Assistant Title 1, you will work under the guidance of licensed teachers to provide instructional support, supervision, and guidance to students. You will assist with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment, as well as provide individualized support to students who require extra attention. Your expertise and enthusiasm will help create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters academic success and social growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support and tutoring to students in large groups, small groups, and one-on-one situations
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment
- Supervise students in the classroom, playground, and other school settings
- Perform record-keeping and basic clerical functions to support teachers and maintain student files
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other staff members
- Participate in meetings and training sessions to improve skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- Completed associate's degree or higher, or completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (72 college quarter hours or more)
- Prior job-related experience working with school-age children
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (oral and written) preferred
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance and First Aid/CPR card required
