Remote Medical Director for Adolescent Substance Use Treatment
Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical Director to join our team at a leading provider of mental health and substance use disorder services. As a Remote Medical Director, you will provide medical oversight to a residential treatment program for adolescents facing substance use challenges, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical care, including assessments, medication management, and patient health monitoring.
- Offer 24/7 on-call support for medical emergencies and consultations.
- Collaborate with therapists, counselors, and other professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and execute medical protocols and policies to enhance treatment outcomes.
- Educate staff on medical topics, including substance use disorders and medication management strategies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to continuously enhance patient care.
Required Skills:
- Clinical expertise in assessing and treating substance use disorders.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical protocols and procedures related to substance use disorders.
Qualifications:
We have two options for qualified candidates:
Option 1: Physician
- MD or DO degree.
- Successful completion of an emergency medicine or primary care residency.
- Board certification in emergency medicine or primary care.
- Experience with adolescents facing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or addiction medicine is preferred.
Option 2: Nurse Practitioner
- RN degree (or equivalent).
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- FNP-BC, PNP-BC, or ENP-BC certification.
- Prescriptive Authority licensure in Colorado.
- DEA certificate.
- Experience working with adolescents facing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or addiction medicine.
