In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home, with a remote schedule available after completing a 2-4 week in-office training period. Job Description:
As a Remote Insurance Follow-Up Representative, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Effectively managing a specified number of accounts daily, ensuring timely and efficient follow-up on insurance claims
- Verifying insurance information and contacting insurance companies to determine claims status
- Taking proactive action to expedite claims payment in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
- Sending correspondence as necessary to follow-up on claims and ensuring all accounts are properly documented
Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm (with a 30-minute lunch break), or Monday to Thursday, 8am-5pm (with a 1-hour lunch break), and Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with one mandatory Saturday shift per month (8am-12pm).
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- At least one year of experience in a hospital business office or medical accounts receivable environment, with professional knowledge of credit, collections, and customer service principles
- A combination of education and experience in medical debt collection, including knowledge of third-party payers and managed care
- Billing experience is highly desirable
- Exceptional customer service and telephone skills, with the ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot insurance claims
- Working knowledge of Managed Care, Medicare, and Medicaid, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong focus on achieving personal, team, and company goals, with a flexible and adaptable approach to ongoing change
- Excellent attendance record and ability to work in a fast-paced, call center environment
