Fall/Winter Policy & Representation Intern (Remote)
Join our team as a Policy & Representation Intern and play a vital role in advocating for the public radio system. As a member of our dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in policy and communications, while contributing to the development of strategies to promote public radio and educate lawmakers. This 28-week part-time internship offers a unique chance to work on legislative research, drafting collateral, preparing presentation materials, and supporting grassroots activities that drive public support for public radio.
As a Policy & Representation Intern, you will:
- Conduct legislative research and support research projects to educate lawmakers and promote public radio
- Draft collateral materials to raise awareness about public radio and its services
- Assist in preparing presentation materials, talking points, and other communications support
- Support grassroots activities and events that promote public radio and develop public support
- Collaborate with our team to achieve our advocacy goals and promote the public radio system
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of the legislative process and familiarity with Congress or state legislatures
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google suite products, design software, WordPress, and MailChimp
- Experience with social media platforms and content creation
- Collaborative working style, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time management skills
