Monroe Community College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advisor to join our Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) team. As an Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing support, guidance, and resources to students in local middle schools and high schools, helping them to achieve their academic and career goals in science and technology.
Position Highlights:

- Compensation: Competitive salary ($42,000 - $44,000, based on experience)
- Start Date: Immediate openings available
Job Summary:
The Advisor, Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP), will collaborate with school faculty and staff to provide, organize, and implement services and activities related to STEP at participating schools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, STEM, or a related field, and experience working with middle and high school students. You will be responsible for recruitment, outreach, networking, planning and implementation, data collection and tracking, advisement, and essential communication duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and provide direct services to students at middle and high schools
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement enrichment activities
- Organize and facilitate Saturday College and Summer Bridge Programs, workshops for parents and students, and other events
- Assist students with applications for jobs, internships, and higher education
- Provide academic support and facilitate personal and academic development sessions
- Collect and track data for reporting and monitoring purposes
Requirements:
- Earned Associate's degree or higher in Education, or a STEM discipline from a regionally accredited higher education institution
- Minimum of three years working with middle and/or high school students in educational environments
- Success with and commitment to supporting an inclusive environment
- Proven advisement and mentoring experience
- Experience with developing and implementing curriculum and/or academic activities
- Ability to work effectively independently and with a team
- Valid NYS driver's license and ability to pass the NYS fingerprinting clearance process
