Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Head Start Teacher to join our team in Arkoma, OK. As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing individual and group educational plans for infants and toddlers, promoting social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans and educational activities to promote all developmental areas and improve readiness for preschool.
  • Guide and facilitate daily classroom activities, field trips, and outdoor play to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Practice responsive caregiving, including individualized and small group activities, to promote relational learning and integrate routines into a flexible schedule.
  • Conduct conferences, home visits, and maintain accurate records to ensure parents and caregivers are informed about their child's progress and development.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and ongoing portfolio assessment for each child, including weekly observations, examples of work, and developmental assessments.
  • Collaborate with Program Aides, Volunteers, and the Center Director to develop skills, plan activities, and ensure program quality.
  • Protect the safety of children by implementing active supervision techniques and ensuring a safe and healthy environment.

Requirements:

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, with a focus on infant and toddler development.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals and teams at all levels.
  • Successful interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with great problem-solving and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Head Start/Early Head Start program and commitment to fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
