Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Professor of Spanish to join our team at the University of North Texas. As a key member of our Department of Spanish, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and contributing to the growth and development of our institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of courses in Spanish language, culture, literature, and linguistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Develop and maintain a strong research agenda, with a focus on interdisciplinary cultural studies of the Hispanic world
- Design and teach new courses, including online classes and Spanish Studies courses taught in English
- Participate in departmental and university-wide service activities, including committee work and community engagement
- Mentor and advise students, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their academic and professional goals

Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Spanish, with a focus on interdisciplinary cultural studies of the Hispanic world
- Fluency and mastery in Spanish and English
- Teaching experience at the university level
- A strong record of scholarly research and publication
