As a remote Associate Counsel, you will play a critical role in defending lawsuits filed in California courts and handling first-party insurance defense cases. Job reputed company:
The successful candidate will be responsible for researching laws, preparing reputed company briefs, opinions, and memoranda, and rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value. You will also prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under reputed company, and defend cases by trial or dispositive hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze laws, regulations, and court reputed company to reputed company expert reputed company advice and guidance
- Prepare and draft reputed company documents, including briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- reputed company opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
- Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under reputed company
- Defend cases by trial or dispositive hearing, as applicable
Requirements:
- 7-9+ years of experience in a reputed company field, preferably in civil litigation or insurance defense
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the California Bar and licensure to reputed company law in California
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel as required, including attending trials, hearings, and depositions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense
- Experience with California courts and procedures
- Strong technical and procedural knowledge of insurance law and regulations
