Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic law student to join our Legal Department as a Summer Remote Intern. As a leading publisher of English language books, Penguin Random House offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and diverse industry. Our internship program is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the legal aspects of publishing, with a focus on increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the legal profession.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on a wide range of topics, including defamation, copyright, right of publicity, privacy, trademark, and commercial law
- Review books for legal concerns and provide feedback to our editorial team
- Draft contracts and assist in negotiating agreements with authors, agents, and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with our legal team to tackle complex challenges and develop innovative solutions
Program Details:
- 10-week remote internship program starting from June 9, 2025 – August 18, 2025
- 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday
- Competitive hourly rate of $21 per hour
