The Safari and WebKit Team: This team is at the forefront of innovation, continuously developing and refining the Safari browser and WebKit rendering engine. We are a collaborative and intellectually stimulating group dedicated to delivering cutting-edge technology. As a Senior Remote Data Analyst, you will be a vital link in our quality assurance process, ensuring the reliability and performance of these critical components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bug Triage & Analysis: You will be responsible for triaging and analyzing software bugs reported in the Safari browser and the WebKit framework within various Apple products, including iTunes, Mail, and Messages.
- Investigative Analysis: Apply strong analytical and investigative techniques to identify root causes of software issues.
- Issue Prioritization & Escalation: Evaluate the severity and impact of bugs, prioritizing them for resolution and escalating complex issues to the appropriate engineering teams.
- Reproducibility & Documentation: Reproduce reported bugs, meticulously document findings, and provide clear, concise reports for developers.
- Data-Driven Insights: Leverage data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement in the software release process.
- Collaboration & Communication: Maintain strong communication with engineering teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Automation Support: Assist in the development and execution of automated functional and performance tests.
- Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices throughout the software release lifecycle.
Key Capabilities & Qualifications:
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to apply essential analytical and investigative methodologies to identify and resolve software defects.
- QA Methodologies: Solid understanding and practical experience with various QA methodologies (e.g., black box testing, regression testing, exploratory testing).
- Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to adapt to a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages is highly desirable.
- Version Control: Experience working with Git or other source control systems.
- Testing Experience: Experience with automated functional or performance testing tools and frameworks.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Browser Expertise: Deep understanding of web browser architecture, including one or more browser technologies (e.g., Safari, Chrome, Firefox).
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or data analysis, preferably within a browser or web technologies environment.
