In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in enhancing the quality and reliability of iOS and macOS through advanced data analysis and pipeline development. You will work collaboratively with our planning and QA teams to shape the future of our software programs, ensuring exceptional user experiences.

As a Senior Data Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining robust data infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making and proactive quality assurance. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in data management, statistical analysis, and programming to contribute directly to the success of Apple's world-renowned products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Development & Management: Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines using technologies such as Cassandra, Streak, and Airflow to ensure the reliable flow of data for quality analysis.
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Conduct in-depth analysis of complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in software quality.
  • Test Planning & Execution Support: Assist in the planning, design, and execution of software tests, leveraging data insights to optimize test coverage and effectiveness.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Develop and implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data used for quality assessment.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with engineering, planning, and QA teams to understand data requirements, communicate findings, and drive data-informed improvements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline data processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the overall quality assurance workflow.
  • Data Extraction, Transformation & Loading (ETL): Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into usable formats, and load it into data warehouses and analytical systems.
  • Statistical Modeling & Analysis: Apply statistical techniques to analyze data, identify patterns, and develop predictive models to improve software quality.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, processes, and analyses.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends: Continuously learn and evaluate new data technologies and methodologies to enhance our data capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience with distributed computing, data accumulation, and workflow management tools (Cassandra, Streak, Airflow).
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines.
  • Strong experience in data analysis, including data cleaning, extraction, transformation, loading, and analysis/interpretation/inference.
  • Excellent planning, creative problem-solving, and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A passion for user-centric design and delivering first-class products.
