We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team at American Express in Nigeria. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in preparing financial statements, leading end-to-end legal entity reviews, and providing analysis of reporting data to support executive meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements according to IFRS legal reporting requirements on a timely basis
  • Lead end-to-end legal entity reviews as directed by the Delivery Leader/Chief Legal Entity Reporting (LER)
  • Prepare local GAAP to US GAAP reconciliations, assessing significant changes for GAAP differences
  • Lead client calls and provide analysis of reporting data to support executive meetings
  • Manage delivery of multiple markets simultaneously and perform peer-level review or consolidation
  • Manage work and provide leadership and support to junior team members
  • Conduct research as needed on GAAP, regulations, and laws
  • Ensure effective controls and governance are adhered to

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., accounting, finance)
  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in public accounting, audit, or legal entity reporting
  • Strong financial accounting and reporting background, including knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS-Office applications, with working knowledge of Essbase or similar software
