What You'll Do

As a Staff Social Case Worker in Adult Protective Services, you will:

  • Receive on-the-job training in casework methods and techniques.
  • Identify and connect individuals with appropriate resources and referrals.
  • Maintain accurate records of assignments and duties.
  • Collaborate with clients' support networks, service agencies, and community partners to gather information and coordinate services.
  • Participate in training to enhance skills and knowledge in Adult Protective Services.
  • Contribute to committees and workgroups focused on resources, prevention, and community partnerships.
  • Stay informed about available community resources for at-risk adults.
  • Develop increasingly independent casework skills over time.
  • Prepare reports on tracked activities and tasks.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of services to clients.
  • Represent the department in accordance with city rules and regulations.
  • May be required to work in other city agencies or locations during emergencies.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Applications.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • An open mind and innovative thinking approach to supporting the needs of the program.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Qualifications

Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling, or a related field.

Experience Requirement: None

License: Valid Driver's License required.
