Collections Specialist - Remote (Boise, ID)

As a Collections Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the timely collection of funds owed to the company, resolving customer billing issues, and contributing to our strong cash flow. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a high-volume portfolio of customer accounts, conducting phone calls and correspondence to collect delinquent balances.
- Investigate and resolve disputed or unauthorized customer deductions.
- Provide exceptional customer service while addressing collection inquiries and ensuring payment of past-due balances.
- Monitor the order release queue and proactively address any delays.
- Prepare and analyze monthly reports, participating in aging meetings to review portfolio status.
- Prepare final demand letters and negotiate payment plans with customers.
- Coordinate account placement with third-party collection agencies as needed.
- Generate monthly customer account statements.
- Process accounts receivable transactions, including debits, credits, and payments.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Maintain the integrity of customer accounts and ensure accurate reporting.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable and collections (preferred).
- Self-starter with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with SAP or mainframe systems (preferred).
- Basic understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements (preferred).
- Experience in the consumer products industry (preferred).
- Experience in a shared service environment (preferred).
