Graduate Intern - Lead Discovery & Characterization

We're seeking a highly motivated and talented Graduate Intern to join our Lead Discovery & Characterization team at Amgen. As a member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our drug discovery and development efforts, with a focus on cell-based high-content imaging assays. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge automation instruments and contribute to the advancement of RNAi therapeutic approaches.

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside experts to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge automation instruments and cell-based high-content imaging assays
  • Support the delivery of conjugated siRNA to non-hepatic cells and the advancement of siRNA therapeutic approaches
  • Maintain cell cultures for experiments and learn to execute high-throughput RNA FISH imaging assays on automated platforms
  • Analyze and interpret results, presenting findings to internal teams and engaging in scientific discussions with colleagues

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (MBA, Master's, PharmD, or Ph.D.) at an accredited college or university
  • Basic qualifications: 18 years or older, graduated with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred qualifications: Degree concentration in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related subject area; strong cell culture skills and experience with siRNA transfection
