Job Description:
Blazer Jobs is seeking a dynamic and dedicated English Teacher for a full-time position in New Orleans, LA. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literature, writing, and fostering a love of language in students. This position involves designing engaging curriculum, developing students' critical thinking and communication skills, and supporting academic growth across a diverse group of learners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement standards-based English Language Arts instruction
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages inquiry, discussion, and a love for reading and writing
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles
• Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative measures
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to enhance curriculum and student achievement
• Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and staff
• Contribute to a positive school culture that promotes academic and personal success
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Secondary Education, or a related field
• Valid Louisiana teaching certification in English Language Arts (Grades 6–12) or eligibility to obtain
• Previous teaching experience preferred (student teaching accepted)
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Ability to pass all required background checks and fingerprinting
