BH Care Manager I - UM, Crisis Line

About the position Responsibilities • Manage psychiatric and substance abuse health benefits through telephonic or written review. • Provide clinical crisis support for the 24/7/365 Behavioral Health Crisis Line. • Assess member needs using appropriate screening criteria and clinical judgment. • Ensure access to medically necessary quality behavioral healthcare in accordance with UM Clinical Guidelines. • Refer cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate. • Perform psychiatric and substance abuse disorder assessment, coordination, implementation, case planning, monitoring, and evaluating. • Promote quality member outcomes to optimize member health benefits. Requirements • MA/MS in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health field, or a degree in nursing. • Minimum of 3 years of experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. • Current, active, unrestricted license (LCMHC, LCSW, RN, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist) to practice as a health professional in North Carolina. • Previous experience in case management/utilization management with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases preferred. • Experience with crisis support for individuals impacted by mental health or substance abuse crises. Nice-to-haves • Bilingual in English and Spanish. • Previous utilization management experience highly desired. • Experience with taking crisis line calls strongly preferred. • Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Services (BCBA).
