Job title: Construction Accountant Company: Premier Heating and Cooling Job description: Job Description Construction Accountant Nature of Work Working under the supervision of Executive Management, the Construction Accountant at Premier Heating and Cooling, LLC (PHC) will perform a variety of duties. As a financial manager in a growing company the Construction Accountant will be a self-driven talented accountant responsible for all aspects of the company finances. Summary of Essential Job Functions Will coordinate the Company s accounting activities in an effective, up to date, and accurate manner by performing the following tasks: 1. Actively participates in the Company s strategic planning sessions. 2. Works cooperatively with all team members to support the achievement of work plan activities designed to achieve identified goals and objectives. 3. Participate in the formation and implementation of company financial plans. 4. Preparation of all monthly financial reports. 5. Work with outside accounting/financial firms. 6. Provide reporting and budgeting as required by Senior Management. 7. Manage Company and project cash flow. 8. Oversee Company Payroll. 9. Administer Company 401k Plan. 10. Administer Company Taxes. 11. Assist with Human Resource Functions. 12. Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable staff and functions. 13. Work with project management staff ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures including reviewing and analyzing job cost estimates and reports monthly. 14. Develop written accounting procedures for the operations staff and work with team to ensure proper implementation and compliance. 15. Operates office equipment such as computers, fax machines, photocopiers, voice mail messaging systems and computer scanning equipment to complete department tasks. 16. Completes internal and external correspondence, legal documents, form letters and other documents, and distributes them as directed. 17. Coordinates and completes significant special projects independently or in cooperation with other groups as directed by the Manager or designate. 18. Understands and adheres to all PHC policies and procedures. 19. Other tasks as required. Strategic Initiative Responsibilities 1. Creating new accounting/operations procedures to prepare and manage rapidly growing entity and the evolving business structure. 2. Develop and maintain relationships with key partners including banks, title companies, accounting firm, etc. that will support and grow the business 3. Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications Specific requirements include: 1. Must be a strong and organized leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 2. Bachelor s Degree in accounting and/or finance required. Job Description Construction Accountant 3. 3 to 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. 4. Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting. 5. 2 to 4 years on Construction Management or General Contracting or Subcontractor industry experience. 6. Understanding of commercial insurance policies. 7. Extensive experience with QuickBooks. 8. Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. 9. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SchedulePro/Vendor Portal. 10. Must be able to work flexible hours. 11. Must have a valid driver s license and possess own vehicle. 12.
