About the position
Responsibilities
• Assist Project Manager by obtaining pricing for the development of cost estimates
• Maintain current and orderly job site files
• Support Project Manager in the preparation of daily and monthly reports
• Assist Project Manager in obtaining required permits for the work from governmental agencies and coordinating required inspections by appropriate inspectors
• Maintain document control and distribution
• Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with coordinating the work of each trade
• Assist with printing and updating plans and specifications
• Assist with answering phones and greeting clients when needed
• Local miscellaneous errand running in company vehicle
• Scanning and saving miscellaneous documents and drawings
• Assist project management team with the submittal and distribution of project documents via ProCore
• Assist with the set-up and bid request for current projects bidding, including phone calls and emails to contractors and vendors
• Maintain updated drawing logs for all current and bidding projects
• Assist with the project set-up; this includes uploading plans, specs, permit documents, contracts, and other information into ProCore
• Assist with collecting and saving documents for project closeout
• Other duties that might be assigned by the project management team or office staff
• Assist with the coordinating and supervising all on site activities
• Identify and resolve construction site problems
• Prioritizing tasks to provide for smooth flow of project
• Promote teamwork and good company morale
• Assist with coordinating inspections with authorities having jurisdiction
• Assist with generating 'Requests for Information' and communicate to project manager for submission
• Assist with operating an organized on-site project office including but not limited to up-to-date contract documents, project filing system and as-built construction documents
• Assist with overseeing the quality of construction, worker productivity, and jobsite safety practice
• Assist superintendent with any light carpentry work needed on the project site
• Always comply with Scherer Construction/OSHA safety standards on site
• Establish and maintain a positive relationship with many different people, including owners, architects, engineers and local building officials, craft workers
• Assist with the coordination of all site deliveries and storage
• Responsible for maintaining the Company property
• Other duties that might be assigned by the project management team
Requirements
• This is an intern / entry level position. Previous experience is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of ProCore software is preferred but not required
• Required: proficient in Microsoft Office
• Some physical labor required
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
