International User Research Manager
About the position
Responsibilities
• Plan and lead qualitative, quantitative, and data-supported research studies to inform product, marketing, design, and business strategies.
• Partner with the international organization to uncover critical insights for market expansion.
• Travel to key markets (maximum 4 times per year) to conduct in-person research.
• Work flexible hours to oversee projects across different time zones.
• Lead relationships with international research partners, including vetting and managing new vendors.
• Collaborate with design, marketing, product, and engineering teams to scope studies and implement findings.
• Coach and advise team members conducting their own research projects.
• Work with data analysts to discover insights that expand upon your research.
Requirements
• 6-10 years experience in a market or user research role at a consumer-facing company.
• 2+ years of experience directly managing research vendors in non-anglophone markets.
• Strong leadership qualities with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Excellent research skills, including surveys, interviews, and competitive intelligence; data analysis skills a plus.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a rapidly evolving business landscape.
• Scaling-mindset with an understanding of how product and marketing teams evaluate investment opportunities.
Nice-to-haves
• Familiarity with the ed tech landscape and/or Gen Z consumers.
• Experience working within a freemium consumer subscriptions business.
• Experience on an international marketing team or specific market growth team.
• Experience working for an agency or company focused on serving 13 to 35 year-old audiences outside the US.
• Fluency in a non-English language.

• Total compensation including a starting base salary of $178,000 - $210,000, depending on location and experience, plus company stock options.
