Transcribe horns, gtrs, bass, drums from several African highlife songs
I’m looking for an experienced music transcriber/arranger to create high-quality, accurate transcriptions of 3–4 African highlife songs from an album I recorded about 40 years ago. Each track is approximately 4 minutes long. Longest is 6 minutes.
Instrumentation to transcribe:
Horn section: trombone, trumpet, saxophone (must be accurate and complete)
Two guitars
Bass
Drum kit (optional — but preferred if possible)
What is not required:
The African percussion/drumming parts do not need to be transcribed. Solos do NOT need to be transcribed. Just indicate solo sections (and what instrument is soloing).
Requirements:
Transcriptions should be delivered as professional, legible notation (e.g., Sibelius, Finale, MuseScore, or high-quality PDF).
Accuracy is very important — these should reflect the original performances as closely as possible. The songs were recorded live in the studio. Instrument separation is not ideal. Some parts will be hard to distinguish.
Ability to work from MP3 recordings (which I will provide).
Experience with African highlife or related styles is strongly preferred.
Deliverables:
Full written parts for each instrument listed above, per song.
Score and individual parts (separated) for performance/rehearsal use.
Delivery in PDF (and editable source file if possible).
Scope:
3–4 songs, ~4 minutes each.
Timeline: Flexible, but would like delivery within 3–4 weeks after start.
Please include in your proposal:
Examples of your past transcription work (especially with horn sections and guitar/bass).
Your experience with African, highlife, or jazz-influenced styles (if any).
Your estimated cost per song or for the entire project.
