Remote Fortinet/Network Engineer/SDWAN

About the position Responsibilities • Architect and deploy network solutions using the full Fortinet suite (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, etc.) • Configure and optimize Fortinet SD-WAN to ensure reliable connectivity and performance for distributed networks. • Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and proactive network maintenance. • Monitor and manage network health, identifying and resolving performance issues promptly. • Utilize FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralized management and analytics. • Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems using Fortinet solutions. • Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing potential risks proactively. • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align network architecture with organizational goals. • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated network issues, ensuring timely resolution. • Train and mentor junior staff or client personnel on Fortinet technologies. Requirements • Strong hands-on experience with the Fortinet suite (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAP, FortiSwitch, etc.) • Proficiency in configuring and managing Fortinet SD-WAN solutions. • Deep knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs). • Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) is a plus. • Minimum of 5 years in network engineering roles with significant Fortinet focus. • Proven experience designing and managing enterprise or multi-site networks. • Fortinet NSE 4 or higher required; NSE 7/8 strongly preferred. • Additional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, or SD-WAN certifications) are a bonus. • Excellent communication and client-facing skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting. Nice-to-haves • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and integrating Fortinet solutions in hybrid environments. • Familiarity with SD-WAN solutions from other vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.) is a plus.
