Audio Visual Production Coordinator

The Audio Visual Production Coordinator is responsible for managing technical and production requirements and operating equipment for a wide variety of performances, public programs and installations for diverse audiences related to the art and life of Andy Warhol, the resources of The Andy Warhol Museum and relevant art, cultural and social issues. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Undergraduate degree Audio or Theater Production or related field or equivalent experience. • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, experience and age. • Familiarity with contemporary performing and visual arts and entertainment. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: • Knowledge of department and museum policies, procedures, and practices with the ability to answer work related questions; and/or interpret and apply these guidelines correctly in various situations. • Working knowledge of techniques and methods of stage, lighting, sound and communications design, installation and preparation for theatrical or related performances and public programs. • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. • Ability to prioritize and schedule work and multi-task. Proficient computer skills. • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Must be able to reach, stretch, and stoop; lift heavy objects (50 pounds). • Ability to work in cramped spaces. PRINICPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Assess and manage all production and technical aspects of all programs and performances and facilitate communication with artists, tour managers, participants and contracted production companies on all aspects of program logistics and production needs based on technical riders. • Work with artists/performers from a theater production perspective to determine the most appropriate, practical and safest way to present their work within the museum space. • Assist artists/performers with load-in, installation and de-installation of production equipment or any other materials related to their performance, to ensure clean, safe and professional presentation. • Assist exhibition department with installation and maintenance of technical audio/visual components as required. • Organize and maintain audio, video and lighting equipment inventory and coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized equipment repair and rental. • Maintain program calendars and oversee scheduling of part time theater technician. • Assist with overall program operations and participant relations and coordinate house management with Visitor Services manager. • Other duties as assigned.
