Dolphin Labs, Inc., an Alameda, California-based company, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee multiple government contracts and technical programs supporting the design, build, and deployment of marine systems for wave energy. Dolphin Labs is developing the xNode ocean wave energy converter (WEC) to deliver persistent, renewable power for remote applications such as sensing, communications, and autonomous vehicle operations in maritime environments. Founded in 2022, Dolphin Labs is an early-stage startup backed by the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Defense, NATO, and multiple Blue Economy Accelerators. The Project Manager will coordinate timelines, budgets, deliverables, and logistics across several concurrent contracts, ensuring on-time performance in both engineering and operational milestones.

About the RoleWe are seeking an organized and proactive Project Manager to oversee the execution of 4+ active government contracts and associated engineering programs. This role involves tracking bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly deliverables, managing integrated design/build/deploy schedules, and coordinating logistics/location timelines. The Project Manager will also oversee program budgets, ensuring cost control and compliance with contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage project plans, schedules, and deliverables across 4+ concurrent contracts
• Track and report bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly deliverables for government clients
• Coordinate design, build, and deployment timelines with engineering and operations teams
• Manage logistics and site/location schedules to meet operational deadlines
• Oversee program budgets, monitor costs, and ensure compliance with funding requirements
• Maintain strong communication with internal teams, external subcontractors, and external stakeholders
• Identify and mitigate risks to schedule, budget, and scope
Qualifications
• 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in engineering, defense, or technology sectors
• Experience with government contracts and deliverable tracking strongly preferred
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills
• Proficiency with project management and knowledge base tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Clickup, Notion)
• Budget tracking and financial reporting experience
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• PMP certification or equivalent experience a plus
Employment Details
• Part-time role (10–20 hrs/week), with potential to grow into full-time based on performance and program needs

Compensation and Benefits
• Hourly Rate: $70–$85/hour, depending on experience; available as 1099 contractor or W-2 employee
• Employment Type: Part-time hourly, with potential to transition to full-time based on performance and program needs
